  • We collect as little as we can to run our games and this website.

  • You can ask us to show you or delete your data at any time.

Who's in the yard

Rust Beetle Games is an independent studio that makes the games Scrapjaw, Junkyard Juggernaut, Oxide Run and Beetlegrave. This policy covers this website and those games.

We're responsible for the personal data described here. To reach us about anything privacy-related, email [email protected]. A human reads it.

LOT 02

What we pick up

ON THIS WEBSITE

This is a plain static site. It has no accounts, no sign-up forms and no ad trackers. Our web server records standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) to keep the site running and secure. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.

IN OUR GAMES

When you play, the storefront or console platform you bought from (for example Steam, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo) shares a player ID and display name with the game so features work. We may also receive crash reports and basic gameplay stats.

  • Leaderboards and daily runs in Scrapjaw and Oxide Run use your platform ID, display name and scores.
  • Online matches in Junkyard Juggernaut use your platform ID and connection details to join players together.
  • Cloud saves are handled by your platform's own cloud save service.
  • Crash reports may include device specs, game version and a log of what happened just before the crash.
  • Email: if you write to us or sign up for Beetlegrave playtests, we get your email address and whatever you choose to tell us.

We don't ask for your real name, address, or payment details. Purchases are processed by the store you buy from, never by us.

LOT 03

What we use it for

  • Running game features: leaderboards, matchmaking, saves and unlocks.
  • Fixing bugs and crashes, and balancing builds based on aggregate gameplay stats.
  • Answering your emails and support requests.
  • Sending playtest invitations or studio news, only if you asked for them. Every such email lets you opt out.
  • Keeping the website and game services secure and preventing cheating or abuse.

We don't use your data for targeted advertising, and our games contain no third-party ads.

LOT 04

Who else touches it

WE DO NOT SELL OR RENT YOUR PERSONAL DATA. TO ANYONE. EVER.

We share data only when it's needed to run things:

  • Platforms and storefronts such as Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo, which run their own accounts, purchases, achievements and cloud saves under their own privacy policies.
  • Service providers that host our website, run game servers, process crash reports or send email for us. They may only use the data to provide that service to us.
  • The law: if we're legally required to disclose information, or need to protect players, our games or ourselves from fraud or abuse.

Leaderboard display names and scores are visible to other players by design.

LOT 05

Kids

Our games are made for teens and adults and are not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country). We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email [email protected] and we'll delete it.

LOT 06

How long we keep it

  • Server logs: kept for a short period for security, then deleted.
  • Crash reports and gameplay stats: kept while they're useful for fixing and balancing a game, then deleted or reduced to anonymous totals.
  • Leaderboard entries: kept while the leaderboard is live, or until you ask us to remove them.
  • Emails and playtest sign-ups: kept while we're talking or the playtest program runs, and deleted when you unsubscribe or ask.
LOT 07

Your controls

You can ask us to:

  • Access: get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct: fix anything that's wrong.
  • Delete: wipe your data, including leaderboard entries and email sign-ups.
  • Object or opt out: stop us using your data for a particular purpose, like newsletters.

Email [email protected] with your request and the platform name you play on. We may ask for something to confirm it's really you. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Data held by Steam, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo is managed through those platforms' own settings.

Refits to this policy

When our games or services change, this policy may get rebuilt too. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top, and if a change is significant we'll flag it on this site or in the affected game.
